Now that ‘Enthiran’ witnessed a grand opening and has been declared a blockbuster in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, superstar Rajinikanth is all set to leave for his favourite destination — the Himalayas.
The actor is leaving for New Delhi by a flight and then he would be off to an ashram in the foothills of the Himalayas by road. Rajini will be there for a month doing meditation and meeting yogis before he would return to Chennai around Deepavali.
The star was quite busy with a few important things in the recent past including his daughter Soundarya’s wedding and the release of his magnum opus ‘Enthiran’. During the special screening of ‘Robot’, the Hindi version of ‘Enthiran’ in Mumbai a few days ago, he had told reporters that he would like to take a break.
And now, off he goes.

Endhiran Review
Movie: Endhiran
Rate : 4 out 5
Cast: Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Danny Danzongppa
Music: AR Rahman
Director: Shankar
If Robot the film was a person, it would be diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Parts of the film are superbly entertaining – the scale is spectacular, the story is ambitious and the special effects are impressive. But parts, especially in the second half, are so needlessly stretched and cacophonous, that you’re just waiting for it to end.
Still, I strongly recommend that you see Robot, to partake in writer-director Shankar’s prodigious imagination and to revel in the sheer force of nature that is Rajinikanth.
When you buy a ticket to a Rajinikanth film, you enter into a pact with the actor. The only rule in a Rajinikanth movie is that there are no rules. Rajinikanth, whose contract reportedly specifies that he be credited as superstar, reigns supreme.
In Robot, he plays a double role – Dr. Vasi, who creates an andro-humanoid robot named Chitti, also played by Rajinikanth. As pure machine, Chitti functions well enough but trouble starts when Dr. Vasi imbues human emotions into him.
Chitti falls in love with his creator’s girlfriend, Sana played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, creating a singularly unique love triangle. When Chitti’s feelings aren’t reciprocated – Sana thinks of him as a ‘toy-friend’ instead of a boyfriend - all hell breaks loose.
Robot’s most compelling feature is the character of Chitti. Deriving from sources ranging from Blade Runner to Frankenstein, Shankar uses Chitti to make a comment on the human condition.
Like us, Chitti wants to live, he wants to love but like us, he is also tragically flawed, capable of blinding hubris and horrific destruction. Of course these sub-texts are buried under masala so extravagant that your jaws drop.
There are several gorgeously shot songs, including one in Machu Picchu, that has several llamas in the frame with a swaying Aishwarya. Sadly however, A R Rahman’s music is singularly unmemorable.
As is the character of Sana who is essentially a Barbie doll required to look either gorgeous or afraid. Let me also warn you that it takes some time to get used to the film’s supremely over-the- top sensibility. Robot doesn’t have an under-stated moment in its three-hour running time.
At one point, Chitti has an extended conversation with mosquitoes. And it took me a good ten minutes just to get past the wig that Rajinikanth wears as Dr. Vasi.
But once you’re in the flow of things, the plot gives you no time for pause. Of course the scale moves to another level with the special effects that have been done by some of the same technicians who worked on Jurassic Park. In the climax, an army of Chittis transforms itself into a snake and gorges on the enemy.
But through all these fantastical, futuristic images, Shankar keeps the flavor strictly home- grown. The robot is given his name by Dr. Vasi's mother and even though Chitti menacingly abducts Sana, it never gets too risqué.
Robot rides on Rajinikanth’s shoulders and he never stoops under the burden. Aided by snazzy clothes, make-up and special effects, he makes Chitti endearing.
Robot is exhausting. You won’t have much energy left when it’s done. But this roller-coaster ride should be experienced.
Endhiran Rocks. Yes Overall i must give 4 out of 5. Rajani proof once again as he is a super star. Ish play very good role. Songs are very very nice. Graphics: Yes this plays important role in the film. Tamil Film moving towards holly wood. santhanam play a comedy role with different. Overall all must watch this Film.
One of the most awaited movie, Endhiran or Robot is releasing today and we are eagerly waiting for reviews and ratings of the movie from our visitors here. The movie is already getting huge positive response from the fans all across the globe.

Endhiran songs Hit Record | Endhiran Songs Review
Three days after its grand launch in Malaysia, the music album of 'Endhiran' was on top of the charts of the iTunes Store for a brief while on Tuesday though it came down to second position later in the day.
This is the first time that music scored for a Tamil film featured in iTunes’ Store’s Top 10 World Albums. The music by Academy Award winner AR Rahman for the film featuring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan remained in the No. 2 slot both in the US and UK.
Though Rahman’s 'Slumdog Millionaire' still figures in iTunes’ Top 10 World Albums in 16 of 22 countries listed on its website, 'Endhiran' has fascinated the world much ahead of the film’s release.
ThinkMusicIndia, which features exclusive content on the film’s audio launch, is also currently the most viewed TV channel in India, with nearly one lakh hits.
Keeping in mind the high demand, Think Music, which has audio rights for the film, has scaled up production of CDs for the film by nearly one lakh copies, compared to Rahman’s recent films.
“We manufactured 2.5 lakh CDs of 'Endhiran' to be sold across the world. Of this, about 1.75 lakh CDs are meant to be sold within the country alone,” said Priya Krishnan, head of marketing, Think Music.
'Endhiran', the first film to be produced directly by Sun Pictures – at a lavish budget of over Rs 110 crore, is slated for release in September.

Endhiran Shooting Completed - Shankar
Hi Everyone,
Happy to say that the whole Endhiran shoot is wrapped on 7th July with the shooting of the song sung by AR Rahman, choreographed by Remo at Sun Studios. It was a very very happy moment for everyone. I think this is the first film where I am doing the pumpkin breaking pooja (poosanika udaikiradhu) with the lead stars Rajnikanth & Aishwarya Rai.
Everyone had this feeling similar to a cricket last over…. like a 2 year college wrapping day where you feel very happy & also with a heavy heart … I am amused when I see the same feelings in everyone….
Our producer Mr. Kalanithi Maran gave a big party on July 9th for the crew. In the presence of our honorable Central minister Mr. Dayanidhi Maran, I attended the party along with Rajni sir, DOP Rathnavelu, Resul Pookutty, Editor Antony & my crew. We shared all the interesting stories related to the making of the film with Mr. Maran. It was a memorable day for all of us….
A good news… Yesterday morning Rahman gave the tamil songs final mix master to us… it is amazing…rocking, sounding as big & grand as the budget of the movie. The first song clearly indicates that our AR Rahman is an Oscar winner. I hope once again our combination lives up to your expectation levels. And we are planning to release the audio in this month end.
Yours
Shankar

Endhiran History, Making of Endhiran
Endhiran is a forthcoming Tamil science-fiction film being directed by S. Shankar. The film will star Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. As of 2009, the film's production and distribution rights were purchased by Sun Pictures, with Kalanidhi Maran and Hansraj Saxena, for their first time, as producers. At a cost of Rs. 190 crores, the film is expected to be made on the highest ever film budget in Indian cinema, surpassing that of the 2009 Bollywood film Blue.
Production
After completing Nayak: The Real Hero in 2001, Shankar announced a project with Kamal Haasan and Preity Zinta titled Robo,to be produced by the now-defunct production company Media Dreams.Despite, announcing the project, due to a lack of backing the project was cancelled and Shankar began work on Boys. In 2005, Shankar made another project, Anniyan, this was mistaken to be the renamed title for Robot.
After a positive response from his previous project, Sivaji: The Boss, there were speculations regarding Shankar's next film. However Shankar stated that he was going to be involved with his production house, S Pictures for 3 months.Several websites claimed that he was set to take his maiden Telugu language film with Chiranjeevi, while others claimed that it was set to be with Mahesh Babu.
Ajith Kumar was also considered for the film and several sources reported this news as confirmed but Ajith claimed that he wasn't yet approached. In July 2007, Shahrukh Khan was signed on to be the male lead of Robot and also the producer of the film. However, in October 2007, Shah Rukh Khan and Shankar officially called off the project. Khan commented that the script was "half-baked" and "dull" in comparison to his other films at the time. Shankar commented that Rajinikanth had commented on Shankar being a "trusted" and "excellent" script writer. Thus the two weren't able to compromise on one another opinions.
After further indications that either Ajith Kumar or Aamir Khan were set to sign up for the film, reports surfaced in early January 2008, that Rajinikanth has been roped in for the project. The movie will be made at a cost of Rs. 165 Crores.Later in January 2008, Ayngaran International and Eros Multimedia agreed to become the producers of Robot. The film was unable to keep its name, Robot, due to the English title in Tamil Nadu, whose government present tax exemption to films with Tamil titles. Likely titles suggested to proceed Robot as the title, included Iyandiran or Iyandira, both literal translations of Robot. However it was confirmed in September 2008 that the film has been renamed to Endhiran. The film's scripting is going on as told by Shankar in two interviews. It was subsequently announced that all those who have been committed for Robot should sign an agreement accepting that they will not commit themselves to any other project for the next two years of its production, with an exemption to the female lead, Aishwarya Rai.
However in December 2008, a sudden turn of events led to the production and distribution rights of the film being substantially altered. The production company, Eros International, cited the failures of Drona and Yuvvraj for putting them in financial pressure. Furthermore, Ayngaran International were affected by the Global financial crisis of 2008, forcing both productions to sell the project. Immediately Sun Pictures bought the film from the previous producers for 165 crores, taking over all rights for the film.Sun Pictures is negotiating a deal with HBO to release an English subtitled version of the film in the West.
Casting
Apart from the original decided casting of Rajinikanth in the lead role, Shankar as director and A. R. Rahman as film composer, who sets a new record for the most expensive musician of India, the rest of the cast was named over the following year. Several heroines were approached to essay the lead female role with Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Asin Thottumkal,Trisha Krishnan, Shriya Saran, Priyamani and Nayanthara being linked with the role. In late January 2008, Aishwarya Rai was announced as the heroine of the project, and she later confirmed her appearance in the film to the news channel, Aaj Tak for a fee of 6 crores, becoming the highest paid actress in India with her salary for Endhiran. In a subsequent interview Aishwarya Rai expressed how much she always wanted work with Shankar and Rajinikanth, and was eager to work on the project. For the lead antagonist role Amitabh Bachchan, J. D. Chakravarthy, Narain and Arjun were considered, however Indian actor, Danny Denzongpa was signed for the role. Comedians Santhanam and Karunas were signed up to portray important roles in December 2008. Sujatha Rangarajan originally announced as the dialogue writer of the film, died during the production stages, with Balakumaran being named as his successor.
